Lesson of Life

I was walking in a shopping mall with Yohanen. He was all excited and went about running being care free. As a father, it brought much delight and pleasure to see my sixteen month son enjoying his freedom. Later that evening, we met a clown who made a balloon in the form on an animal. Wow...Yohanen was extremely excited (he loves balloons).
Then something terrible happened. The balloon that he was holding in his hands, fell. And a small girl walked over it! And right before his very eyes, the animal shaped balloon vanished!
I stood there looking at the remains of the balloon. As a father, i could not help but feel the pain and disillusionment that my son was going through. It hurts...still does as i recall the incident. Hold i could do is to held him in my arms.
Felt like getting another piece of balloon for him. But i realised that there would be moments in future when Yohanen has to go through pain, grief and lost. This is the sad reality of life. If i rescue to him now, i would not be helping him to cope with the disappointments later in life. As a father on this earth, i realised that ultimately it is only our Father in Heaven who can truly comfort and meet every persons need - this also includes Yohanen.

It's the best comfort for all of our life:
That our Heavenly Father will always hold us,
hold us close, hold us up,
when the rest of the world let us down.
Isn't parenthood such a revelation of our Father's heart?
How true!! Fully agree that we can fully rely on God. yes...indeed there can be no better to discover the Father heart of God than parenting.
