king or beggar?

In our last class of Alpha in Methodist College, Rev. Nicky Gumble made the following remarks which caught my attention. It goes something like this, 'if we want to enjoy God's inheritance in our lives we must be willing to give up the rubbish of our past.' I think Rev. Nicky was talking about our willingness to let go lifestyle that is not worthy of God's call in our life.

He illustrated this fact by sharing the following story. He said that he once conducted a funeral of a street beggar. To his surprised there were many who came to the funeral because apprently this lady was very rich (she inherited a few millions pounds from another relative). Rev. Nicky wondered why she lived in the streets when she could live like a queen. Finally, when he made inquiry, someone told him that the reason why she lived in the streets was due to her unwillingness to give up her old lifesytle!

Let me end by asking: are you living like a King's son or like a begger in the streets of sin?
