Bang!!

Last weekend was really shocking and unforgettable! It was at about 8.40 on Saturday morning. Rhema and I were in our car, just moving out from our parking lot. It was just a few seconds when we heard a loud noise and wondered what happened? To our horror, we have discovered a car has just ramped into the back of our car. Ohh dear!!! My first thought....can't even believe what had happened!!

But what was even more shocking was a tremendous amount of peace we felt in our hearts in that moment of crises. One of the Condo staff who were present at the time of accident later commented that we were so 'cool' in handling the situation. There was no exchange of 'unpleasant words' or 'disruptive behaviour.'

I guess what i am trying to communicate here is that God is much bigger than any disaster or situation that we would encounter. As i thought about the entire situation, I am reminded that when we walk with God, things does not necessary go all well. Being connected with God doesn't make us immune to 'disaster' and 'crises', but God will certainly be faithful in seeing us through.

Therefore, trying situation, difficult people, pain, struggles, hardship...can actually become opportunity for us to discover how real and magnificance God really is. The important thing for us to do is not to react immediately in blaming God for whatever negative that happens to us. We need to bring our pain, struggles and difficulties to God. And if we lay it down at His feet, we will discover something new about God.

I want to thank God for the grace that He has given to both Rhema and I to cope with this situation in the last two days. We went to church on LRT....something that we have never done for a long time. As we were walking towards church, we were reminded of our early days (in our journey with God) when we use to walk about 30 minutes to church because we had little money in our pockets. Ohhh...we really felt the joy of the Lord. Indeed, the joy of the Lord is our strength!

This morning i traveled to STM to participate in a Youth Ministry course. Although i got early on the bus to Seremban, it only left 40 minutes later. I did feel angry and frustrated. But you know something, God is faithful. He gave me enough of time to reach STM. It is simply amazing to know how God works inspite of all our struggles and difficulty.

This brings me to a very important conclusion: the worst disaster that ever happen to anyone is the absence of God's Presence in his or her life. For when we 'have' God, we have everything. Do i hear a 'Amen' to that?

If God has called us to do something, He will surely give us grace to do it. We only need to depend on God and He will take care of the rest. Praise be the Name of the Lord!
