Lifting hands

This morning I was reminded of 1 Timothy 2:8, "I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing."

As i thought and prayed through this verse, i am reminded of God's instruction on how we should respond to difficult and conflicting situation. Sometimes, in the work of God, it is easy to come into disagreement and to encounter conflict with others. This happens especially when we touch on issues that is close to people heart. It is easy to become engrossed with pain and bitterness. It grips both our emotions and imagination. All the sudden, everything else becomes secondary and our own feelings and situation are elevated.

Believe me, i know what I am talking about because this has happen to me so many times. I have major blunders in my ministry in regard to this matter. What is the proof of this internal condition? Its fruit is shown in what we say, our speech.

God doesn't shield this things from not happening. But God wants us to learn how to deal with it, in the manner that will bring glory and honour to Him. When we learn to pour out our grievance to God in prayer and live in peace with others, we give room for God to work in our lives and the lives of those who are affected. When we begin to pray through these matters, we begin to see things from God's perspective. Our spirits are open to receive God's grace to endure and shine through such situation.

May God give us grace and strength always to look upon Him, especially during such times, Amen!
