Mission Trip at Kuantan (JS)
Sorry my dear friends! I have been away for some time now. Just came back from Jeremiah School on last Sunday. Spent about one day at home resting. Very tired lah. Came back home at about 12.30 a.m. from Kuantan. Yesterday, came to office. Had tons and tons of work waiting. Today i would be going over to the Methodist College to speak at the CF. Tomorrow I would be going away to attend the Board of Youth Work Retreat in Rawang. That would be up to Sunday.
So, you must be wondering how am i coping with all this? Praise God, i am feeling like my battery has been recharged. You may wonder how, since i just came back after 9 days with youths in the Mission field & about 6 weeks in STM. Actually, God used them to minister to me. I was very ministered when we had the foot washing service on last thursday. Some of the Youth prayed for me. They washed my feet and then laid their hands on my foot and prayed. "Lord thank you for Pastorpher....." I can't tell you what when through my heart during those times. It was as if God was laying his hands on me and brought healing and retoration into my soul. All my tiredness, pain, struggles just melted away as they spoke God given words that brought healing to my soul. And there i was thinking of ministering to them!
The next day we celebrated 'love feast'. It was the agape meal (holy communion, early church style). As the youths shared their testimonies that night, i felt that i was indeed 'full'. Hannah's testimony really touched my heart. She said that the night when God spoke to her heart, she couldn't stop going around telling others that God loves us!! hahaha....God really brought so much of joy and healing into her life.
Sleeping at night with the boys for was really. i enjoyed it. Of course i was there like a mad man telling them to go to sleep on time. But we didn't have much problem doing this as they had been learnt it during their stay in STM. Of course, my immediate neighbours that night heard the 'music' that i made at night. The bible says to make a joyful noise to the Lord..... :)
Oh yes, the boys really hugged each other while they were asleep. You should be there to see it. Especially Lawrence and Eric. Somewhere in the middle of their sleep there was the 'wrestling match'. Eric had a strangle hold on Lawrence!
The mornings were fun. The girls were the first to wake up. Errikka woke up and started her preaching about waking up the sluggards. Then she would sing the 'Negara Ku'. Li Vien, her vice President and Director of the 'Mangkuk Club' would start her "preaching". Oh dear....these girls can really talk.....hahahaha.....(i miss them so much)
Another thing that i would find difficult to forget is how the youths conquerored the streets in sharing the love of God through evangelism. No place in Kuantan was left untouched (exaggerating). Hospital, shopping malls, beach, streets, door to door, recreation parks.... They really went out. I think the Pastor, Rev. Peggy Seow can testify to that.
It was also a time of breakthrough for me, personally. I was very glad when the Lord gave me opportunity to step out and share the gospel to stranges. Something wonderful happened when i talked with them. I felt the Love of Jesus in my heart for them. I believe that God is helping me to overcome my fear of talking to strangers about the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Lord also spoke to my heart and reminded me that my job is to share his goodnews to those who do not know. I must not be worried to convert them. It is the work of the Holy Spirit. I must also not be afraid of being rejected because they are saying 'no' to Christ. I also realise that the minute a Christian fail to share the gospel, he or she begins to experience a slow death spiritually. And the job of witnessing requires a person to die to his or her own desires and comforts. So its either you die in sharing or you die for not sharing...except that one results in eternal life.
I hope to blog more....but i am fight for time. Thanks for all the encouragement you guys have given to remind me to blog again. It has breath life into my blog! Thank you.
